Turn your measurements and gauge into the stitch and row counts you need. Enter the chest, body length and sleeve length, your stitch and row gauge per 10 cm, and any ease, and the tool estimates how many stitches to cast on and how many rows to knit. This is an approximate sizing helper, not a pattern — always confirm with a swatch and the garment’s own pattern notes. All processing runs locally in your browser. How to Use the Knitting Size Calculator
Choose your units, enter the chest, body length and sleeve length, add any ease, then enter your stitch and row gauge per 10 cm. Press Calculate sizes to see the cast-on count and the rows for the body and sleeves.
What it accounts for
Cast-on stitches are the finished circumference (chest plus ease) times your stitch gauge.
Body and sleeve rows are the length times your row gauge.
Ease adds room for the fit you want — about 5-10 cm for a relaxed sweater.
Getting a better number
Gauge is everything: a half-stitch difference per 10 cm changes a whole sweater. Knit and wash a swatch, measure it, and use those numbers. Treat the counts as an approximate starting point, not a quote.
